15/07/2013‘This Moose Belongs to Me’ by Oliver Jeffers

moose-coverI found the book ‘This Moose Belongs to Me’ by Oliver Jeffers in my local library, in the children books section. I borrowed it for my wee one, but actually wished it belonged to me…
The drawings are beautiful and rich, the text witty. What can I say- the perfect illustrated book!  moose3

10/07/2013A forest of hammocks

holiday
Found this postcard when I visited Amsterdam last month:
Jewish kids at a TOZ (Society for Safeguarding the Health of the Jewish Population) summer camp, Grodno Poland, 1920s.

This photo can evoke all sorts of thoughts regarding the fate of these kids, but perhaps I will just leave them there to enjoy their vacation on a warm and sunny day in the forest.
