14/01/2013A fine day for a stroll on the beach

Last Saturday at Portobello beach in Edinburgh- glimpses of sun that made everything glow, warm sticky toffee pudding with fudge sause and ice-cream, and a red ball.

08/01/2013Sleeve Design fun with Born To Be Wide

Blues Funeral by Mark Lanegan Band  (Textile image from the Design Library in London, sleeve design: Alison Fielding, Beggars Group)

I attended this short seminar on sleeve design organized by Born To Be Wide in November (last year!)- the video documenting the evening is now online, so I thought I would share it with you + a few examples of cool/ beautiful sleeves shown on the night (scroll down to view the video, warning: it’s 1:36 hours long).
It was a fun and informative event!

The seminar was organized in partnership with Creative Edinburgh featuring: Alison Fielding (Beggars Group), Jannica Honey (Photographer), Sandy McLean (Love Music Glasgow) & Tommy Perman (Found).

03/01/2013The wonderful world of Dr. Seuss

I’m discovering the wonderful and insane world of Dr. Seuss-
This spread from The Cat in the Hat, year 1957!

The book begins with these words:
The sun did not shine.
It was too wet to play.
So we sat in the house
All that cold, cold, wet day.

Appropriate, isn’t it?
